Tilaiya Dam

Not just one of the largest dams of Jharkhand but is also one of the historical dams. Construction of this huge dam had begun even before India’s independence and was completed in year 1952. How to reach Koderma ?

The best way to travel to Koderma is via Railway. Since Koderma Railway Station is a junction and Koderma District doesn’t have an airport, traveling via rail is obviously the best option. And being an important junction, Koderma station is directly connected to almost all the important cities of India. To name a few, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Nagpur, Pune, Guwahati are some of the important cities that Koderma is directly connected to.But in case if you still prefer to travel via flight, then nearest airport is Gaya airport located in Bodh gaya town of Bihar. The approximate distance between the Koderma and Gaya city is 94 kms (via NH 31 and SH 70). From Gaya you can also travel by train. There are 37 weekly trains from Gaya to Koderma. It takes approximately. The train journey lasts for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
